The film explores multiple themes by studying the many intricacies of the craftswoman’s relationship with the craft and the stone that it is done on. The ideas of inheritance, being in touch with tradition in todays times, the life of the craftswoman and how poetically it is tied to the craft are all looked at in this film. Not only do we see the process of the craft in the film but we also get an inside look into a culture and it’s people.

These indigenous women transform clay into pots and pans, keeping the immemorial tradition of the village women. Pottery and “Ouricuri secrets” are the basis of this group’s identity, permanence and persistence.
