This film captures a working day in the Historic carving Department.
Every student gets their own working space – giving them total immersion in real practice and the physicality of materials, pigments, tools and techniques right from the start. Students are given opportunities to develop knowledge and skills as well as their professional experience and networks, through live projects and commissions. Some students come from very different working backgrounds and never regret their switch of careers.

The treasure of the cathedral of Angoulême, begun in 2008 and completed in 2016, is a monumental work by the artist Jean-Michel Othoniel which features more than 200 objects and liturgical sculptures dating mostly from the nineteenth century.
The film of Gilles Coudert and Damien Faure makes us live the adventure of the Treasury through the word of Jean-Michel Othoniel and the master craftsmen in their workshops, who developed the pieces of art with him.
