Workshops, masterclasses and much more…

This year there will once again be an extra large edition of the festival in the

NDSM Loods.

We are transforming the NDSM Loods into a big public workshop where over 90 craftsmen will give workshops and masterclasses all day. In addition, there are demonstrations and exhibitions and a food court with vegan food and drinks, tastings and food workshops. Various schools for vocational training courses and museums also present themselves. In addition, there is a cinema with a continuous documentary programme, a stage with live (world) music and a materials fair.

The festival focuses explicitly on craft mastery, with artisans from home and abroad sharing their knowledge with audiences of all ages.

Foundation Ambacht in Beeld (cultural ANBI)

Our mission is to bring and keep attention to craftmanship sustainably and movingly, to enable unexpected encounters and cross-fertilization, and to secret an appreciation for craft mastery among many people of all ages.

Liability

The visit to the festival is at your own risk; the organization is not liable for damage, for example, as a result of injury or theft. Participation in workshops and masterclasses is at your own risk. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children at all times.

The festival will be held on the ground floor of the NDSM Loods. This is wheelchair accessible. Participation in most workshops and masterclasses is possible with a wheelchair. Some workshops are given from heightened tables, such as stained glass and felting. A wheelchair toilet is available on the festival site. The organization of Ambacht in Beeld Festival

The Ambacht in Beeld Festival is an initiative by Wendy van Wilgenburg and is organized by the Ambacht in Beeld Foundation (Cultural ANBI).

“The sector needs a positive billboard that presents the craft from strength and shows that we desperately need this as a society. The festival gives an enormous impulse to a new appreciation of crafts and their practice by the general public. By highlighting craftsmanship interactively and educationally, we ensure appreciation and improve the image and visibility of artisan masters while also promoting the preservation and passing on of artisanal expertise as intangible heritage.”
